On Wednesday Microsoft announced on a company blog that they will release an SP2 update for Office 2007. The update will be available next year and will ship between February and April. Microsoft didn’t want to reveal everything yet but so far but they said that Office 2007 will support Open Document Format which is used by OpenOffice a free alternative to Microsoft Office. Microsoft also said that Office will have a more reliable and faster Calendar than in previous versions. Microsoft will show off newer features in the upcoming weeks and will have a private beta for its enterprise customers in the next couple of days. It is still unknown if the beta will go public.
