Having a Mac running Leopard in conjunction with Mobile Me is a very valuable tool. Leopard has an option called “Back to my Mac”. It allows you to easily setup any Mac running Leopard as server, which can be accessed anywhere in the world.
Back to my Mac is a valuable solution for anyone who needs access to files away from their desk.
It’s often a photographers best friend. ESPN magazine contacted me this morning. They wanted a few photos of one of our quarterbacks. I was away from my desktop and only had my MacBook Air at hand. Luckily for me, I had mobile me…. I thought. Turns out that I slept my computer back at my office last night. So I had to drive an hour back, when I could have just transmitted the image from where I was.
Lesson learned, never sleep or shut down your Mac.
